Kyokushin Rengukai Organization
The Kyokushin Rengukai organization is based on the karate philosophy of Sosai Oyama Masutatsu, the kyokushinkai, faithfully following his vision of the way of budo.
Kyokushin Karate style
Kyokushin, like all traditional styles of Karate-Do, bases its teaching methodology on: technique (kihon), form (kata) and combat (kumite). But the latter is done gradually until full contact is reached.
KYOKUSHINKAI
Kyokushinkai, Society of Ultimate Truth or Definitive Truth) is a style of karate founded in 1953 by the Japanese martial arts master of Korean origin Masutatsu Oyama. This style has a philosophy based on self-improvement through the control of the mind and body.
KATA
Northern kata have their origins in the Japanese style of Shotokan karate, which emphasizes distance; which Oyama learned under the teaching of its founder, Master Gichin Funakoshi. Southern kata has its origins in Goju Ryu karate – which emphasizes medium and short distance – which Oyama trained under the teachings of So Nei Chu, a Korean teacher and student of the founder of the style in Japan, Master Chōjun Miyagi.
KUMITE
In combat, the techniques developed in class are applied against the opponent. This practice serves for the student to gain experience over time. The all-contact combat in Kyokushin is considered the ultimate test of endurance, strength, and spirit.
